✨Mexican Fire Opal✨

Pieces will either be marked:

"READY TO SHIP"- the piece is finished and will ship out within 1 week,

"UNFINISHED"- there will be a 2-4 week production time (not counting delivery) to add certain elements or solder the correct ring size; or

"PRE-ORDER" - the piece has not been made yet and there will be a 2-4 week production time (not counting delivery).

Have your ring size handy!

If you don’t know your ring size, select “I don’t know” or "Add ring sizer" in the drop down menu. Production time will begin only once I know your size!

Please do not guess your ring size.

I will finish the ring in the size that is given to me. Once the stone is set, the size can't be changed without high risk of damaging the stone and piece. I don't accept returns if I've been given the wrong size.

Don't hesitate!

There’s no guarantee the piece you want is going to stick around- Everything is one of a kind so once it’s sold, that’s it!

R E P A I R S:
I accept repair requests on a case by case basis. Some repairs are simple, but many are complicated and require extracting the stone and often reconstructing the entire piece. If I am able to successfully extract the stone, the cost for repairs starts at $50 and may go up depending on what needs to be fixed. Please send an email to shop.solis.designs@gmail.com (not a DM) so I can asses the damage and determine what can be done.

IT BEGINS WITH A STONE

I source rough and already cut natural stones and use them in my pieces. Many stones I use in my pieces are cut by myself or my husband, Eric. Others are sourced from lapidarists. Lapidary is the art of cutting, grinding, and shaping a rough stone into a flat, smooth, shiny cabochon that you see in my pieces. Rough pieces are cut with saws of different sizes, and each potential cabochon goes through 9-10 different grit wheels before undergoing a thorough polishing process. It's meticulous but highly rewarding

I do not use a soldering gun to metalsmith, I use a propane torch and silver solder to bind the metal together! This is also a laborious process, with several steps adding up to anywhere from 4-8 hours of work per piece. The process of measuring, soldering, cleaning, sawing, grinding, filing, buffing, stamping, hammering, melting, polishing, etc. is used in each piece. The piece is built from scratch for the specific stone measurements and ONLY that stone.
